Vauxhall Corsa range updated with new engines and specs

Vauxhall has refreshed the popular Corsa supermini range with two Euro 6.2 emissions conventional compliant engines and a handful of trim tweaks. The new 1.4-litre petrol, which comes with either 74 or 89bhp, can emit as low as 130g/km of CO2 dependent of gearbox – a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic are used (although automobile motorists will have to spec the a lot more powerful unit).

Irrespective of power output, the manual 1.4-litre unit achieves a claimed combined cycle figure of 50.4mpg, which drops to 46.3mpg for the auto. Torque is also the same for both engines – with 130Nm coming in at 4,000rpm.

Beyond the mechanical changes, Vauxhall has added a new entry level model, called the Active, which starts at £11,250 and comes with Bluetooth, 15-inch alloy wheels and cruise control as standard. The rest of the range is made up of six trims: Design, Energy, Sport, SRi Nav and SE Nav, with an SRi VX model sitting at the top of the range. buy books for the refreshed range are open now.
Vauxhall has also introduced the Lux pack – which costs £1,550 and brings with it a rear view camera, climate control and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, however, it is only available to customers choosing the SE Nav trim.
The sporty Corsa GSi, promised to be on sale this year is still yet to arrive, but it is expected to also feature a 1.4-litre petrol engine but in turbocharged 148bhp guise. inside the GSi there will be Recaro sports seats, and it will get the suspension and brakes from the hot VXR.
